The City of Red Deer is pleased to launch Engage Red Deer, an innovative online public participation platform that seeks to redefine how residents interact with their local government and contribute to municipal decision making.
The platform engage.reddeer.ca is now live and offers a range of user-friendly features aimed at fostering more inclusive and transparent decision-making.
“Engage Red Deer is another way we are continuing to improve dialogue with citizens, and create additional opportunities for residents to influence municipal decisions that impact them and their community,” said Tara Shand, Community & Public Relations Manager.
Engage Red Deer will serve as a central hub, providing citizens with diverse avenues to share their insights and perspectives. The platform will host surveys, virtual workshops, citizen registries, and other interactive tools designed to facilitate meaningful engagement. Beyond simply providing opportunities for input, the platform will also keep residents informed about upcoming and ongoing projects, while also closing the loop by sharing how their input has influenced decisions.
“On Engage Red Deer, residents can also join the Engaged Citizens Group, an inclusive online space where Red Deerians can sign up to complete surveys and participate in a variety of discussions on topics that matter to them,” said Shand.
The Engaged Citizens Group is open to anyone who lives in The City of Red Deer. It is one way that The City listens to the community. Input collected will help inform decisions related to City services, policies and projects on a variety of topics such as planning, roads and transportation, sport and recreation, arts and culture, and more!
The City of Red Deer is committed to transparent government, building strong community relationships, and promoting inclusive decision-making. Engage Red Deer is a reflection of The City's ongoing efforts to engage citizens and ensure more voices are heard in shaping Red Deer’s future.
