Nominations for young athletes are being sought by The City of Red Deer for the Rising Sport Stars awards program.
Many young athletes in our community are just beginning a lifelong journey of being active and achieving success in sport. Through the Rising Sport Stars program, athletes aged 12 years or younger who participate in a Red Deer sport organization are recognized for their commitment, passion, effort or for overcoming adversity to successfully participate and develop skills, regardless of result.
Nominations are completed and submitted by various sports groups and awards are presented annually. This year the awards will be presented at the Sunterra Fun Run: Saturday May 11, 2024, at the Bower-Kin Community Centre. More information about the award ceremony and timing will be announced closer to the event.
Nominations are accepted via online form and must be submitted prior to the nomination deadline of Monday, April 29, 2024.
