Just in time for the upcoming Westerner Days Fair & Exposition celebration, crews have nearly completed road rehabilitation on 19 Street between Gaetz Avenue and 49 Avenue.
All lanes of traffic will be open by Saturday, July 13 and this work is complete except for the final top lift of pavement that will be placed when roundabout construction is complete in the fall of 2024.
Currently, crews are making progress on the north half of roundabout construction and traffic is diverted onto the south detour lanes. This work will continue through the Westerner Days and motorists can expect to experience some delays on 19 Street at 40 Avenue throughout construction.
Trail users are also reminded that trails are closed north and south of 19 Street between Irwin Avenue and Sharpe Avenue.
Motorists are advised to plan for slight delays, obey all signs and slow down when approaching or driving in a construction zone. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
