Nominations are now open for the Mayor’s Recognition Awards.
The Mayor’s Recognition Awards honour individuals, groups and teams who have made a special contribution that has brought honour and recognition to Red Deer. These awards are a way of acknowledging and congratulating our citizens for their accomplishments.
“I’m always impressed by the spirit of this city,” said Mayor Ken Johnston. “Our citizens are exceptional, and they accomplish incredible things. This awards program gives us the chance to recognize that.”
Nominations are now open with a deadline for nomination of Monday, March 25 at 9 a.m. The awards are open to anyone who lives in or contributes to our community. There are five award categories:
- Athletics
- Distinguished Voluntary Service
- Fine & Performing Arts
- Community Builder Award
- Mayor’s Special Award
“While these awards recognize a broad range of achievements, we know many people serve our community in different ways,” said Mayor Ken Johnston. “If you know a group, individual or team who has gone above and beyond in service of our community, please consider nominating them for a Mayor’s Special Award.”
