Red Deer RCMP seize weapons and drugs following search warrant

Red Deer RCMP have arrested and charged three people following a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of weapons and drugs.

On Dec. 5, 2025, Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT), with the assistance of Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Red Deer RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) and General Investigation Section (GIS), executed a search warrant at a residence in the Devonshire neighbourhood after a short investigation. Police located and arrested three suspects, 2 males and 1 female, at the residence.

A search of the home led to the seizure of a loaded handgun, a shotgun with ammunition, and 22 grams of fentanyl, 133 grams of cocaine, 329 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 100mL of GHB, approximately three cartons (600) of unstamped cigarettes, and $12,190 Canadian currency. Police also located weigh scales, bags used for packaging drugs, and a money counter. Further investigation determined the handgun had been previously reported stolen from a break and enter in Blackfalds, Alta.

As a result of this investigation, Red Deer RCMP have charged:

Johnathan Paron, a 43-year-old resident of Red Deer

  • Possession for the purpose of Trafficking x4
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of restricted firearm with ammunition without licence
  • Unsafe storage of firearms
  • Possession of prohibited weapon knowing possession unauthorized
  • Possession of firearm knowing possession unauthorized
  • Weapon possession contrary to order x4
  • Fail to comply with release order condition
  • Consumer possess/sell cigarettes not marked for sale

Cameron Kitchen, a 39-year-old resident of Red Deer

  • Trafficking controlled substance x4
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Consumer possess/ sell cigarettes not marked for sale

Ashley Blakely, a 39-year-old resident of Red Deer

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking x4
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of restricted firearm with ammunition without licence
  • Unsafe storage of firearm
  • Possession of prohibited weapon knowing possession unauthorized
  • Consumer possess/ sell cigarettes not marked for sale
  • Fail to comply with undertaking condition
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

All three accused have been remanded into custody following Judicial Interim Release Hearings and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Dec. 11, 2025.
