The City of Red Deer invites residents to stay active and healthy this winter by joining the February Fitness Challenge, running from February 1 to 28, 2026.

This exciting community initiative encourages individuals and families to build healthy habits through fun recreation activities. Whether it’s swimming, skating, fitness classes, or drop-in sports, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Participants can get involved at several City of Red Deer recreation facilities, including the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Don Moore Recreation Centre, Michener Aquatic Centre, Servus Arena, Setter’s Place at Great Chief Park, and Kinsmen Community Arenas.

“This challenge is a great way to stay active during the colder months while connecting with our community,” said Monique Pages-Mearns, Recreation Facilities Supervisor. “We encourage everyone to take part, try new activities, and have fun!”

Participants who stay active throughout February will also have the opportunity to win exciting recreation-themed prizes. The more you participate, the better your chances.
