On Tuesday, November 26, the intersection of Ross Street and 43 Avenue will reopen to motorists as the newly-installed traffic light infrastructure becomes operational.
The extensive 43 Avenue/Ross Street project, which began in April 2024, included upgrades to water, sanitary, storm, and electric utility infrastructure as well as improved traffic lights and rehabilitation of the roadway.
“The underground utility infrastructure in the Grandview neighborhood had reached its age limit, so we proactively upgraded this network to ensure safe and reliable services for our residents,” said Jim Jorgensen, Utilities Manager for the City of Red Deer.
Normal traffic signaling operations will resume at 9 a.m. on November 26. There is no change to the traffic light patterns or intersection traffic flow.
The City thanks residents and motorists for their cooperation and patience throughout the project.
