Residents of Red Deer who purchase and install a smart thermostat can take advantage of a rebate offered through The City’sSmart Thermostat Rebate Program. This initiative is designed to help reduce energy consumption and enhance energy efficiency in local homes, offering a $50 rebate for those who replace their current thermostat with a smart one.
"Smart thermostats are a simple but impactful way for residents to increase home comfort and reduce energy use,” explained Phil Boehme, Acting Superintendent, Community Development. “Smart thermostats can help homeowners cut their energy use by as much as 12 per cent, saving money on top of the environmental benefits. By participating in this program, Red Deerians can directly support The City's Environmental Master Plan goals of sustainability and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a win-win: better energy efficiency at home and a healthier environment for everyone.”
