Due to continued warm weather in the forecast, The City of Red Deer will extend the operating season for its spray parks. Central Spray & Play and Woody’s Spray Park will remain open until the end of the day on Sunday, September 7, weather permitting, though they may close earlier if conditions become unsuitable for spray park use. This extension is possible due to several inclement days during the regular summer season, allowing for additional operational days.
Spray parks typically close following the September long weekend in conjunction with the Recreation Centre outdoor pool, but favourable weather has allowed for a predicted extended spray park season.
The final day of operations for both spray parks will be weather dependent. Any updates will be shared through social media and at RedDeer.ca/OutdoorWaterFun. Once closed, City crews will begin winterizing and completing end-of-season maintenance and repairs.
After an active summer season, The City of Red Deer aquatic amenities will return to fall operating hours following the September long weekend. The Recreation Centre Outdoor Pool will close for the season at 5 p.m. on Monday, September 1.
