Trail users are advised of an upcoming trail closure along the trail parallel to the east side of Spruce Drive, as work is completed to provide future access to underground utility infrastructure.
Beginning Monday, May 5, a portion of the trail will be closed for approximately two weeks for trail building and re-surfacing to limestone pathways. While the trail is closed, trail users are advised to obey all barricades and use alternate routes.
In an effort to preserve the environment and minimize any potential impacts to wildlife in the area, a migratory bird nesting sweep has been completed within one week of the start of construction to ensure no disturbance or destruction to any migratory bird nests. Additionally, a silt fence has been constructed along the perimeter of the work area to prevent any material run-off from pathway construction into the nearby Waskasoo Creek.
