Veteran's Success Story
A 62 year old Canadian veteran who was homeless for the first time was successfully housed by our Homelessness Prevention Program. Despite having a low income he was able to find affordable housing with our assistance. He moved into the former army barracks in Springbrook. When I took him to look at his new place he was overwhelmed with joy. He said it brought back so many good memories and felt like home. He had lived in Canadian Forces Base Petawawa in Ontario in their army barracks and they looked just like the one he moved into. He is a humble man living in a humble home and is very content. It was such a blessing to work with him.
