Community Better ParticipACTION Grant

The City of Red Deer was named Canada’s Most Active Community in the 2022 ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge, winning the top prize of $100,000 to be used for physical activity and sports initiatives in our community.

Since then, an advisory group from various organizations collaborated to determine how to best distribute the prize money. Last spring, two grant intakes were offered to individuals, and another to organizations, all with the aim to encourage physical activity in the community. Impressively, the results were fantastic! So much so, that the Community Better Advisory Team has decided to allocate $20,000 for a final grant towards a legacy project.
