Red Deer City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday May 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall to consider Zoning Bylaw Amendment 3357/D-2025. An external application to rezone 170 Lancaster Drive from R-D Residential Duplex Zone to Direct Control Zone No. 35 and an amendment to the Lancaster South Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) (Bylaw 3217/A-2025). The amendment to the NASP maintains consistency in the property’s zoning between statutory documents.

City Council will receive comments from any person claiming to be affected by the proposed bylaw and will consider these at the Public Hearing. Council Chambers is Open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend in-person. Public may also participate in this Public Hearing by submitting written comments or by phone in accordance to Schedule E of the Procedure Bylaw (link below)

Personal information will not be redacted. The Clerk may withhold a public submission from the Council Agenda if the Clerk, after consulting legal counsel, concludes the submission contains: hate speech; discriminatory language; or defamatory language.

Red Deer City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall to consider an Electric Utility MCC Business Plan which proposes to establish a municipally controlled corporation (MCC) for the Electric Utility (EU).

City Council invites the community to share their thoughts about the proposed MCC during the Public Hearing. Council Chambers is Open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend in-person. Public may also participate in this Public Hearing by submitting written comments in accordance with Schedule E of the Procedure Bylaw.

The MCC Business Plan will be made available to the public at least 30 days prior to the Public Hearing, so those wishing to provide feedback may want to wait until it is available to ensure they have full details before providing their feedback.

The Business Plan and other information will be publicly available at reddeer.ca/UtilitiesModel. Additionally, anyone may instead request that these materials may be mailed or emailed to them.
