Administrative Penalties Board
The Administrative Penalties Board is responsible to determine appeals of inspector’s notices, local authority’s notices and debt recovery notices under the Weed Control Act and is the committee responsible for hearing and reviewing appeals in accordance with the Agricultural Pests Act.
This Board is comprised of five citizen representatives appointed by City Council to the Red Deer Tribunals. Board Members are not City of Red Deer employees, Members of Council or the Municipal Planning Commission. However, an Administrative Penalties Board hearing panel is comprised of one Member.
Deadline:
The filing deadline is noted on the Decision, Notice, Order or Refusal that you received. Please note that the applicable filing fee must be paid, and the Notice of Appeal must be received within the specified timeframe as indicated on the Decision, Notice, Order or Refusal.
Filing Fee
- $100.00 fee for Agricultural Pest Act;
- $500.00 fee for Weed Control Act

Notice to Appeal forms and supporting documentation must be filed using one of the above methods and accompanied by the Filing Fee Payment on or before the appeal deadline.
If using the Drop Box, please provide forms and fee in a clearly marked envelope to the attention of the Clerk of the Appeal Board with the date to identify when the envelope was submitted.
Payments may be made using one of the following methods: cash, cheque, debit card, Visa or MasterCard.
