Memorial Trees
The Memorial Tree Program allows for individuals to plant a living legacy in memory of a family member or friend. Dedicate a tree or shrub to enhance the beauty of the Waskasoo Park System while honouring the memory of a loved one.
Individuals wishing to plant a tree or shrub in the Memorial Tree Garden may do so by contacting the Cemetery Services office at 403-342-8303. The current Memorial Tree Garden is located in Barrett Park, adjacent to the Kinex Arena.
The Parks department has created a list of approved tree and shrubs species suitable to Alberta climates. You may choose any tree or shrub from the list, but the placement of the tree within the memorial garden will be determined by the Urban Forester.
Cost
The cost for a memorial tree is $600 + GST. This cost includes the tree, installation, maintenance and warranty for two years from the date of planting.
