Plumbing Permits

If plumbing exists and you are replacing or attaching fixtures, a plumbing permit is not required. For any alterations or new plumbing, a permit is required.

Who can apply?

Only a licensed contractor, with a valid plumbing ticket, can apply for a plumbing permit. If you are a contractor requiring a City of Red Deer Business Licence, please visit our Licensing page to obtain and submit a Business Licence application, and for more information.

You can apply for your permit in one of the following ways:

Alternatively, you can complete the Plumbing Permit Application Form (pdf) , and submit it by email or in person:

Step 2: Site inspections

What inspections will I need?

You will need at least two Safety Codes inspections during the course of your plumbing installation:

  1. A rough-in inspection before concealing any work
  2. A final inspection when all fixtures  are installed 

You will be required to correct all deficiencies. Re-inspection fees or other penalties may apply.

How do I schedule an inspection?

*Inspections must be scheduled by 3 p.m. to book for the following business day.
