Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are requesting assistance to locate the driver of a dark colored Chevrolet Equinox that was involved in a collision with a 12- year old cyclist.
On May 18, 2023 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a collision occurred in the intersection of 30th Avenue and 55 Street.
A dark coloured Chevrolet Equinox was driving northbound on 30th Avenue and made a left turn onto 55th Street. During the turn, the Equinox struck a cyclist who was riding southbound on 30th Avenue in the cross walk.
Video footage from the City of Red Deer traffic cameras indicate the driver initially stopped to talk with the cyclist then left the scene.
RCMP are looking to speak with the driver of the Equinox as there is a duty to report to the police.
RCMP are not seeking charges against the driver.
