Transit Fare Assistance Pass Application Form

The Transit Fare Assistance Pass offers support to people who are currently facing financial challenges and need to use City-operated Transit Services. We encourage customers to fill out the following online form to determine eligibility into the program. A staff member will review the form within ten (10) business days. You will be contacted at the email address you provide in this form once the application has been reviewed to discuss eligibility and next steps. If you automatically qualify with the documentation and information you provide, you will be set up on the program and notified by email about next steps.

NOTE: Information about applications in progress will not be available through the Transit Customer service representatives.

In order for your application to be processed, please attach proof of income/and or support AND a copy of your Government issued ID (Driver’s License preferable). If you do not have a Driver’s License, acceptable ID confirming proof of identification may include: Passport, Affidavit of ID, Institutional ID, Letter of Residency from Shelter or Referring Agency, or Health Care Card. If your ID does not show your current Red Deer address, please provide proof of residence as well (most recent utility or phone bill addressed to you at your current address).

Important Reminders:

  1. Please allow up to ten (10) business days for applications to be reviewed. A City of Red Deer staff member may contact you to discuss your application via the email address you provide in this form. Please note: This application submission does not guarantee approval. Applications are not processed until all information is provided. Applicants must provide their current Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment or documentation for support programs as well as photo identification with address. If this information is not provided, the applicant will not qualify for the Fee Assistance Program.
  2. For same day processing and enrollment, bring your Government Issued ID and required documentation for AISH, Income Support or Alberta Works, Red Deer Housing Authority, Guaranteed Income Support, or Refugee Status to the Customer Service Representatives at Transit Customer Service Centre - Sorensen Station Transit Terminal 4830 - 48 Street, Red Deer. All required documentation must be present for same day processing in person.
  3. Canada Revenue Agency Notices of Assessment cannot be accepted by Customer Service Representatives at the Transit Customer Service Centre and must be submitted through this online application to be reviewed by qualified staff.
